What makes Heal Leaf solid bars different?
Heal Leaf bars are designed to feel like modern hair care—not “old-school soap.” Our solid shampoo and conditioner bars are water-free and compact, but built to deliver a comfortable cleanse and lightweight finish, making them ideal for travel, gym bags, and minimalist routines.
Are your bars soap? Do they contain lye?
No—our Solid Shampoo Bar is not a soap bar, and it’s formulated without a soap base. It does not contain lye (sodium hydroxide) as part of the finished formula. Our bars are made to cleanse and condition hair without the heavy, waxy feel that some soap-based bars can leave behind.
Do your products contain sulfates?
Heal Leaf is formulated without SLS/SLES. We use amino-acid-based surfactants designed to cleanse effectively while feeling gentle on the scalp.
Do your products contain silicones?
No. Our formulas are silicone-free, designed to leave hair feeling clean, soft, and light—without coating buildup.
Results & Suitability
Is it suitable for sensitive scalps?
Our bars are designed with a mildly acidic, scalp-friendly pH and gentle cleansing agents, making them suitable for regular use — including for many people with sensitive scalps. If you have a known allergy or medical scalp condition, we recommend patch testing first and discontinuing use if irritation occurs.
Will it help with oil control and buildup?
Yes—the shampoo bar is designed to lift excess oil and daily buildup while keeping the scalp feeling balanced (not squeaky or stripped). Results can vary by hair type, water hardness, and styling products used.
Is there an adjustment period when switching to solid shampoo?
Some people experience a short transition period (1–2 weeks) as hair and scalp adjust — especially if switching from silicone-heavy liquid shampoos. During this time, hair may feel different than expected, but this usually resolves as buildup is removed and the scalp rebalances.
General
Who are Heal Leaf bars best suited for?
Heal Leaf solid bars are ideal for people looking for a gentle, lightweight cleanse without heavy residue. They work especially well for normal to oily scalps, fine to medium hair, travelers, gym-goers, and anyone wanting a low-waste routine. If your hair is very dry, heavily bleached, or chemically damaged, you may need extra conditioning or a richer routine alongside the shampoo bar.
Why choose solid bars over liquid products?
Solid bars eliminate unnecessary water, reduce plastic packaging, and last longer per use compared to liquid formulas. This means less waste, lower shipping impact, and a more intentional daily routine without sacrificing performance.
How do I use the Solid Shampoo Bar?
Wet hair thoroughly. Glide the bar over scalp and lengths to create lather, massage with fingertips, and rinse well. For best results, shampoo twice if you use heavy styling products.
How do I use the Solid Conditioner Bar?
After shampooing, glide the conditioner bar over mid-lengths to ends (or wherever you need softness most). Let it sit for 30–60 seconds, then rinse thoroughly. Use less on fine hair to keep volume.
How should I store my bars?
Keep bars dry between uses. Store on a draining dish or rack in a well-ventilated spot. The drier the bar stays, the longer it will last.
